2013 Wrestling Season

It's time to start wrestling again!

There will be a mandatory parent meeting at the gym on Wednesday, October 9th, at 7:30 pm. We will go over the rules and guidelines for the upcoming wrestling season, practice schedule, and answering any questions parents might have.

Please be to the meeting if you are planning on wrestling with Team Takedown, and we ask that you leave your wrestlers and other children at home. This meeting is for parents only.

ATTENTION PARENTS...

This Friday will be our LAST practice of the season! We will present the State MVP's their certificates, so please be there if you can.

This Week...

This week we will be back to our regular practice schedule. The older kids will be on Tuesdays from 5-6:30, and again on Friday at 4:30. The younger class will be Friday from 3:30 - 4:30.

Congratulations to our two STATE CHAMPS, Keegan and Kylan! You guys did AWESOME on Saturday!

State Wrestling Update

Weigh in's for State will be on Friday at Triple C Arena in Panguitch. They will be from 5-7 pm. Please note that registration for State will close on Friday at 3 pm.  To avoid any possible issues, it would be best to register early. Don't put it off until Friday!

If you can't make it to weigh in's on Friday in Panguitch, North Sevier will be having them  from 5-7 pm on Thursday (during their practice). I'm assuming that means they will be having them in their wrestling room at the high school. 

Wrestling on Saturday will begin at 9 am for grades PreK-3rd. 4-8th grade will begin at Noon. They are going to have both 4 and 8 man brackets, with medals for 1-4th place.

We will be having practice on Tuesday at 5:00 pm. If you are going to State, please be at practice. We need to know who is going!

If you can't be at practice, but are going to State, please let Cody know.

State Wrestling

The registration for State is now open. Please go to Track Wrestling and sign up as soon as possible. When you get to the Track home page, you can click on the "search" button. When the box of search options pops up, change the state to "Utah" and click "search". Scroll down and click on "South/Central Utah Little League State".

If you are going to state, please don't miss practice on Tuesday (April 2nd) at 5:00 pm. Remember, we won't be having practice on Friday (the day before state), because the coaches will all be in Panguitch. If you are planning on staying over, you need to reserve a room SOON!  I'm sure everything will fill up before next weekend, since Panguitch is such a small town.

I'm not sure how weigh in's will work. If we can do them at the gym, we will. As soon as we find out our options, I'll let everyone know.

Don't forget to email pictures (if you have them) from the Gunnison tournament for the slideshow! Please email them to swinn1@farmersagent.com by Sunday night so I can have the pictures up Monday morning.

Practice Reminder

This is just a quick reminder that we will not be having practice this week, since it's spring break. We will have practice on Tuesday, April 2nd at 5 pm. This will be the last practice before State. We will not be having practice the day before State, since most of the team will already be in Panguitch on Friday night. So please try and be to the Tuesday practice. 

If you are going to State, and plan on staying over the night before, please make your reservation SOON! The rooms are filling up, and there aren't vary many hotel options to begin with.

They still haven't opened the registration on TrackWrestling, we'll let you know when you can sign up.

No practice next week!

We will NOT be having wrestling practice next week due to Spring Break! 

We will start back up on Tuesday, April 2nd. Don't forget to book your motel rooms for State. It's April 6th in Panguitch. There aren't a lot of motels in the area, so please book early. 

They haven't opened registration on TrackWrestling for state yet, but we'll let you know when they do so you can get signed up. As of right now, we're not sure whether or not we can weigh in at the gym or if you will need to go to a designated weigh in site. We will let you know as soon as we find out.  

Check back in a couple days for the MVP's and pictures from North Sanpete! We are just waiting for all the pictures to come in so we can put together a slideshow. If you have pictures you would like on the slideshow, please email them by Sunday night  to swinn1@farmersagent.com.

So.... Apparently, North Sevier is not going to update the tournament results online. So I don't know what place everyone got. I'll try and find out and update it later, but for now, here are the results I know:

This Week...

This week we will be having regular practices. We will also be traveling to the North Sanpete tournament as a team. You don't need to pre-register for this tournament, just show up. Weigh in's will be from 7-8:30 am, and wrestling will begin as soon as they have the brackets ready.

We are waiting for the results to post on Track Wrestling to update the North Sevier tournament results and photos. Hopefully they'll get that done soon!

North Sevier Tournament

Don't forget to sign up for the North Sevier tournament. You have to pay and pre-register online (track wrestling). We will have weigh in's at the gym on Friday, after practice.

This Week and South Sevier MVP

This week we will have our regular scheduled practices, on Tuesday and Friday. We will be attending the North Sevier tournament as a team this weekend, so please get signed up as soon as possible. You need to register online at Track Wrestling. We will probably be doing weigh in's after practice on Friday, so please register before then.

This Week

We will be having regularly scheduled practices this week. We will not be traveling to any tournaments as a team, but there are a couple going on if you are interested. The first is the Wasatch tournament in Heber. You can register for that one on Track Wrestling. Weigh in sites will be posted on Track Wrestling and it begins at 8:30 am on Saturday. The other one is Canyon View in Cedar City. You weigh in and register at Canyon View on Saturday from 7-8:30 am. Wrestling will begin at 9 am there.

This Week...

This week we will be having practices as scheduled. Tuesday from 5-6:30 and then on Friday (3:30-4:30 for the younger kids and 4:30-6:30 or 7 for the older kids).

There are three tournaments scheduled for this weekend. Moab, South Sevier and Parowan. We will let you know at practices if we will be attending any of them as a team. If you don't have a tournament schedule, please be sure and pick one up from Cody at practice. I've also posted one them all on the sidebar, under "upcoming events". I'll update if anymore are added to the list.

**Just a reminder** If you are planning on going to State, please consider booking your rooms now (if you are going to stay over that Friday night). Panguitch is a small town, and I'm sure the hotels will fill up quickly.

Our wrestlers did a great job at Super State! Eight boys went to the tournament and we had three of them place in the medal rounds! Good job Damon, Kaden and Keegan!

Instead of posting individual pictures below, I'm trying to figure out how to do a slideshow. I'll post it as soon as I have it done.

This week we will have practice as scheduled. I don't know of any tournaments this weekend, but we will definitely update you here, and also at practice if we go to one.

It's probably a good idea to start booking rooms for State. It will be April 6th in Panguitch. There aren't a lot of motel options there, so be sure and book a room early!
