Yesterday was our first practice and our team looks AMAZING! We have a great group of kids this year and it's going to be an awesome season!
Please remember to get your orders in for the team singlet. We are going to extend the deadline by a week. All order forms and money need to be turned in by the end of practice on November 20th.
A couple parents have been confused on what size of singlet to order their wrestler. The brand is Brute. So if you've had a Brute singlet in the past, you should be safe basing your wrestlers current size on how their old singlet fit. I'm not sure if this will help or not, but a youth large fits a wrestler that weighs around 60-65 or 70 pounds. If you've misplaced your order form, there are extras at the gym. We will try and have a couple different sizes of singlets for the boys to try on next week at practice.
If you weren't able to attend the parent meeting, please get with one of the coaches to get a copy of the handout. Every wrestling parent is required to sign the contract before their child is allowed to wrestle with our team.
Next weekend (November 16th) is the Caleb Williams Memorial Tournament at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork. This is NOT a mandatory tournament. However, if you are planning on going, please let one of the coaches know. You will need a USA card to attend. You can purchase that here. If you would like to view the flyer for the tournament, click here.
Just a note... Some of the bigger tournaments (Salt Lake Slam, Super State) require you to have a coaches pass if you expect to be down on the floor with your wrestler. If you are a coach or a coaching parent and want to be able to do that, you have to get yourself a USA Coaches Card. Doing this requires a background check, which can take some time (usually a couple days but can take a couple weeks). If you are planning on attending those bigger tournaments (and want to be down on the floor), you probably need to get that process started soon.
